Bed Rest (Open RP.)

Normally, staying in one spot for too long would make Janie restless. For the past week or so, however, she barely got out of bed. There was a walk twice a day, and a shower. The rest of the time was spent sleeping or chatting with a friend.

The events of that evening still went through her mind, and she was sure no one else had forgotten either. She knew Ian hadn't forgotten. Today she slept fitfully, asking for Ian or Kelly whenever she woke. Those two meant so much to her- she had to make sure they were safe.

The stitches bothered her, and she wanted another dose of pain killers, when she realized someone else was in the room with her. After a moment of confusion she plastered a smile on her face and tried to set aside the thoughts that were still in her head.

"Hi..."

Saxsice smiled, taking a seat next to the bed. "Welcome. Don't they keep you hydrated in here? Jeez..."

"Yes. I'm very thirsty." Janie explained "I shouldn't be."

"Oh. Well, s'all right. You're allowed t'be thirsty. Might be the drugs, huh?"

"It might be." She admitted "Are you okay? Was your car damaged?"

"Drugs usually do. And no worries, I never drove it."

"Does insurance cover it?" She looked down, at the plastic cap from the bottle of water.

"It'd better. Otherwise I'll sue," Saxsice said happily, with no intention of doing any such thing.

"When I finish school and get a job, I'll pay you back." Janie promised, still looking at the bottle cap.

"Don't be silly," Saxsice said dismissively. "I have a wild phobia of cars. I never wanted one in the first place."

"How are you going to get places?" It didn't seem like Janie believed her.

"Same way I always got them. Bus. Walking. That nifty thing my fiance can do where he gets from one place to another in two seconds."

A shrug. "I can't. He can. S'pretty awesome."

Was he mad about what happened?

She shrugs. "He...doesn't know yet."

"Are you going to tell him?"

Saxsice frowned, briefly. "Probably. When things settle down a bit. I don't want him getting too upset."

"I'm sorry you have to keep that from him."

Another shrug. "It's my decision to. Don't worry."

"I won't" That was an obvious lie, but the company did seem to somewhat lift her out of her mood.

Tactfully, Saxsice changes the subject. "When're you let outta here?"

"I don't know." She shrugged "I haven't asked anyone."

"I don't really care." Janie said "As long as it isn't forever."
