Here we are, happy golden days (Open)
(Open to one and all, and will sort out verses if/when they come up)
Christmas? Janie could do that.
The year had been terrible, but right now she didn't care. She had friends, family, people who were willing the be there for the holiday- and dinner was set out for all of them now. It was ordered, bought, and made by friends who had far better cooking skills. Somehow there was enough room for everyone, and she was happy.
Carols played in the background and the large room was decorated in tacky decorations and tinsel.
Now, to wait for the guests..

She had a corner set with a big comfy dog bed in a red and black material, a bowl of food and water and a few snacks and toys. Lynn looked excited and waited for permission to pet the dog.
"Dinner is almost ready, and we'll have presents and drinks after. Is that alright?"

Peavey sniffed the dog bed and the things that were meant for him thoroughly when he was shown the corner. His tail wagged and he seemed perfectly content.
"He won't bite. Oh, and he loves to be scratched behind the ears", Julian encouraged Lynn.

Lynn grinned, and hurried over to play with the dog.

Peavey was clearly happy that someone paid attention to him, so he sniffed Lynn curiously.

Lynn scratched behind his ears, then held up one of the toys to see if he wanted to play.

He looked down at himself, too, a little sheepishly, and shrugged. At least he had managed to find clothes that were clean and not overly worn.
The dog was always up for playing and tried to snatch the toy.

"Of course, it's wonderful", he said, grinning despite feeling a little overwhelmed. "Friends and food and drinks and presents, what more can I wish for? I'm really glad to be here."
