Here we are, happy golden days (Open)
(Open to one and all, and will sort out verses if/when they come up)
Christmas? Janie could do that.
The year had been terrible, but right now she didn't care. She had friends, family, people who were willing the be there for the holiday- and dinner was set out for all of them now. It was ordered, bought, and made by friends who had far better cooking skills. Somehow there was enough room for everyone, and she was happy.
Carols played in the background and the large room was decorated in tacky decorations and tinsel.
Now, to wait for the guests..

"I'm very glad you made it! Merry Christmas. Dinner is almost ready, and afterwards I have presents for everyone. It's such a pleasure to meet you, Moira. I'm Janie, Lynn's Mom."

"Help yourselves. Have a seat. Does anyone need anything?"
Lynn whispered a joke to Annika, then pointed to the tree, and the presents underneath.

Annika giggled at Lynn's joke and followed where she was pointing to. "Wow, your tree is so pretty. Let's go shake all the presents!"

Lynn rushed over to the tree. "Two are from you. One is from me and the other one Mom bought."

Annika picked up one of the gifts at random and shook it. The small box didn't make much of a sound. "I can't wait until everyone opens all of these."

"Me either!" Grinned Lynn "I love opening gifts"

Annika grinned back and put the small box back under the tree. She swapped it out for another one.

Lynn picked up a big present, and tried to lift a little tape, setting it back down when she tore the paper. "What do you think that one is?
