Here we are, happy golden days (Open)

(Open to one and all, and will sort out verses if/when they come up)

Christmas?  Janie could do that.

The year had been terrible, but right now she didn't care.  She had friends, family, people who were willing the be there for the holiday- and dinner was set out for all of them now.  It was ordered, bought, and made by friends who had far better cooking skills.  Somehow there was enough room for everyone, and she was happy.

Carols played in the background and the large room was decorated in tacky decorations and tinsel.

Now, to wait for the guests..

Moira looked up at Janie and eyed her. "Hello," she said with a chill in her little voice. Annika, however, was warm and bubbly and destined to be the life of the party. She hugged Lynn tightly. And Bobby? He stood quietly with his hands in his pockets.

Moira cast a glance at Bobby, silently asking if she could go get some snacks. He nodded and she wandered off.

Annika giggled at Lynn's joke and followed where she was pointing to. "Wow, your tree is so pretty. Let's go shake all the presents!"

"Thanks," he answered with a small, polite smile, "I'm sure I'll find something."

Annika picked up one of the gifts at random and shook it. The small box didn't make much of a sound. "I can't wait until everyone opens all of these."

He smiles a little more and shrugs. "I'm not any better than you are. This...um, this is nice. Thank you for inviting us."

Annika grinned back and put the small box back under the tree. She swapped it out for another one.
