After taking a deep breath, Janie knocked on the door. She needed to set things straight with him, to talk to him.

Maybe this would help everything make a little more sense.

"A- what? No, I mean, I'm not sure. That's a lot of tattoos and I doubt if you have even one."

"Well, not yet. But they're all the rage among the cool kids and scary Goth people. Really, if there's any way I can help you with that, let me know."

"I'd keep you straight, but not anyone else. Do I ask everyone to get tattoos?"

"Not ... now. Maybe in the future? I wouldn't know."

"I wasn't asking if I did it, I was asking to see if it was a good idea."

"Well ... is people went along with it, it might make your world make more sense."

"It might..." She was seriously considering it.

"So ... more kissing?"

"Is that all you think about?"

" ... obviously not, since I just gave you what you seemed to consider a good idea. But now that you have that idea, maybe we could get back to what we were doing ... ?"

"Yes, under two conditions."

"Okay ... what are they?"

"One, when I come by later, romance, romance, romance. Two, no jerkfaceness allowed"

"Ummm ... I think I can live with that."

"Wonderful." Kissing him gently, she climbed onto his lap "Follow my lead."

"Okay ... "

It was later, when both of them were snuggled together on the futon, when they heard a heavy thud hit the carpet.

"What was that?"

Janie's question was soon answered when she turned her head, and a six foot tall demon stood behind them.

"Long, tall and ugly ... and in our LIVING ROOM ... "

Xander jumped to his feet, or started to, before he realized he was kind of naked.

" ... now what?" he asked Janie.

"Don't make any sudden movements." Janie said, not taking her eyes off the demon as she reached for what she hoped was her pants. Her plan was to shoot the thing in the head with a laser blaster.

It growled at them, and she realized that she'd grabbed a shirt. "Honestly, fate. Can I have a little help, please?"

Xander successfully located his jeans and pulled them on, hoping he didn't get eaten in the process ...

The demon swiped at Xander with sharp claws.

Janie, who barely had her arms in the large, button down shirt, jumped up and tried to push the demon away from Xander. Since the demon was so much bigger than her, all she succeeded in doing was distracting it enough to grab her with its clawed arms.

"Weapon. In. My. Pocket."

"I thought you were just happy to see me!" Xander shouted, but he managed to get his hand into and out of Janie's pocket, and he shoved the weapon into Janie's hand.

She took the blaster, and fired it directly into the demons head. It dropped to the ground, releasing the time traveler as it did so.

"That doesn't make sense. If I was happy to see you, I wouldn't have a weapon-"

Her words cut off as the demon swiped at her again, knocking her backwards.

Xander tackled the demon, nudity notwithstanding, and yelled, "He's down! I got him!"

"Pervert demons..." Janie muttered under her breath as she got up to kill the thing once and for all. "Why? Hmm? A shot to the head was supposed to kill you."

The demon growled, clearly weakened. "And on that note, why are you here? How the hell did you get in?"

Carefully avoiding Xander, she aimed her blaster at the demon again, hoping it would kill him this time.
