Janie had been back for a few days now, but was nervous about Snake Steele showing up again. She had weapons but feared she wouldn't be fast enough.

His attack came as a complete surprise, and one of her fears came true. All of the bad guys were working together, which would make winning a lot harder. Today, she was at a mostly empty diner, drowning her sorrows in a plate of pie and a glass of chocolate milkshake.

After his unfortunate encounter with Giovan, Julian had tried to warn Janie, but hadn't been able to reach her. He was forced to wait, and after all that had happened, being condemned to inaction was something that slowly drove him insane. He had to get out of his house, he had to think.
So this night, he chose a diner that didn't look crowded, in order to get some warm food. When he stepped inside, he was startled and immensely relieved to see just the familiar face he had been looking for, and he walked over to Janie's table.
