Housewarming Party (open RP)

Today was her housewarming. Janie checked over everything several times to make sure it was all ready.

The house was completely spotless. She'd scrubbed every corner and made sure it was nice and clean for anyone who came by. Every picture on the wall was straight and the furniture all looked picture perfect. She had lots of snacks prepared and a few activities so people wouldn't get bored. Later, there would be a nice dinner.

She wasn't sure where Ian or Kelly were, but as long as they weren't making messes, it didn't matter at the moment.  Everything had to be perfect for the party.

Phoenix and Sal manifest silently outside, he looks around at the cars as she taps the door.

"Sure you're okay?" He's been asking her that for the last half-hour.

"I'm fine." Sal rolls her eyes. "After I've totally hit the wine... but you're gonna stay sober."

Janie opened the door, and got a big smile on her face when she saw the two people on the other side of it.

"SAL! PHOENIX!" She gave them both huge hugs. "Come in, come in"

"Janie!" Sal takes her turn, hogging her friend for an extra-long hug. "Was gonna bring Corvo, so you could meet him... but Mr Weirdness here decided to crash in on my life." She laughs off an idle flick around her head from Phoenix.

"How are you? Gods, this is a nice place!"

"The weirdness didn't come across my mind, I'm sorry... I'm so glad you're here. This is a really nice place, isn't it? Ian's got great taste."

Weirdness? Cheeky bint. "She hasn't met Alec yet" He winks at Janie, looking around. Ian Malcolm certainly does have impeccable taste, he has to hand it to the man.

"Watch Sal... she'll swipe all your alcohol."

"Oh... meeting Alec will be interesting." Janie smiled "Did you want alcohol? Is wine okay? I think we have something a bit stronger if you want that."

"I sorta did already.." Holy crap, how'd HE turn out?

Sal takes Janie's arm, "Wine's great.. oh. We got some for you.." She looks back at Phoenix, who produces the bottle from thin air.

"We did actually steal it." He laughs handing it to Janie. "Don't think my brother'd mind too much."

"Thank you!" Janie smiled "I'll put this to chill, and get you a glass... do you both want a glass?"

"Ye.." Sal whacks his arm. "..Ah, I'm fine. Maybe later." Gods only know, there's very few people in the cosmos he'd take that from. Phoenix shoots Sal a look, however it's not lacking in good humour.

"He's on his best behaviour." Sal informs Janie. "We got bladdered the other night, and you don't wanna know what happens when gods get drunk."

"Oh... alright. No drinks for him." Janie wasn't sure what they were talking about, but chose not to push it. "Thanks again for coming, both of you."

Phoenix suddenly develops a slightly smug air, and Sal does her utmost not to roll her eyes again.

"Not at all, thanks for the invitation." Sal's pretty happy, she's never been to any function on Earth without her pack.

"It's nice to see you so happy." Phoenix puts a hand on Janie's shoulder and kisses her head.

"You're welcome. You're coming to the wedding, right? It's not until May, but you'll be there?"

Janie smiled at Phoenix and Sal. "Thanks. I can't believe I'm this happy"

"Are you kidding?" Sal grins. "I'm dying to see like a proper.. wedding ..thing. It's exotic and alien!"

"We'll be there." Phoenix promises Janie. "I'll have to smuggle this one.." He indicates Sal. "..out of the manor, but we won't miss it."

"Did you have to smuggle her here?" Janie hadn't thought about that either "I'm sorry if it was any trouble."

Phoenix wags a finger at Janie. "You. Are not permitted to worry about anything this evening. Anyway it was a piece of cake."

"It was more fun than problematic." Sal assures her. "But by May I'll have had the chance to talk to Drakus. He's usually cool about... weirdness."

"I don't think I've met Drakus... Okay, I won't-" She grinned. "I'm not worried. This is my non-worrying face."

Sal's blushing a little. "You'd like him."

"That's a good look on you." Phoenix nods his approval. "And ignore Sal, she might be the cool village kid who got noticed by a god, but she's too loved-up not to be biased."

"Non-worrying?" Janie smiled "Or happy?"

"Now look what you've done." Phoenix winks at Janie. "Now I'll have to insist on both."
