Housewarming Party (open RP)

Today was her housewarming. Janie checked over everything several times to make sure it was all ready.

The house was completely spotless. She'd scrubbed every corner and made sure it was nice and clean for anyone who came by. Every picture on the wall was straight and the furniture all looked picture perfect. She had lots of snacks prepared and a few activities so people wouldn't get bored. Later, there would be a nice dinner.

She wasn't sure where Ian or Kelly were, but as long as they weren't making messes, it didn't matter at the moment.  Everything had to be perfect for the party.

With all the bustling and Ja'nee's perfection about the house Ian took to sitting in Kelly's bedroom playing Tetris with his daughter and Lex who'd arrived a day early to spend some time with Kelly.

Blake has just dropped Maddy off at Janie's house and she knocks on the front door. She is so excited to see Janie's new home. She'll be comforted knowing that Janie's in a good place and with a great guy. In her right hand is a gift bag containing their housewarming present.

Janie looked through the peephole, and smiled when she realized it was Maddy.

"Maddy! You made it! Come in!" She opened the door and stepped aside for her friend.

Before the guests arrived, she looked around for everyone else, and realized they were all holed up in Kelly's room.

"Everything is ready" she said, from the doorway.

One minute. Ian didn't look up. He and Lex were in a heated battle of Tetris. It had gone on so long that the blocks were falling almost too fast to keep up with. Kelly got up and came over to Ja'nee.

They both are cheating.

Kelly shook her head. Lex is a computer geek.

Do you want to play later? I won't cheat. Who's winning?

I need the practice to beat him. Kelly smiled and nodded before standing up on her toes to look at the TV screen.

We'll have fun. She looked at the screen for a while, before remembering that she left the oven on.

I have to go back to the kitchen. All of the snacks are ready if you want to eat.

I left the oven on, and I forgot to put sodas out. She smiled, glad for the help and to be spending time with Kelly

I can get the pop. Kelly smiled. Did you put out the plastic cups?

Kelly went off to do what she was asked. It was only a few moments before Ian started laughing. He was up, game won and trying to walk with Lex on his back asking him, berating him even about how he knows what is coming.

Kelly is getting the soda. She smiled at Ian and Lex, then went to check on Kelly

Ian finally got Lex off of his back and followed after Ja'nee with Lex in tow.

Kelly was setting out the soda as well as glasses. She'd already filled Ian's ice bucket and had that sitting on the table where the drinks would go.

"After Kelly finishes, all we have to do is wait for the guests."

Ian smiled when he saw what she'd been up to. The place looks nice.

I invited all of my friends. I'm not sure how many will actually make it because they don't all live here.

Nica pulled up in a cab, grabbed a bag from the seat, waved at the driver and stepped up to the door. She knocked, thee rapid taps, and got a quick look around outside. Seemed like a nice enough place ...

Janie went to the door, and looked through the peep hole.

"NICA!" she smiled, opening the door, and giving her friend a hug "Come on in!"

"Heya, hon! Wow, this is a really nice place! Here ... I thought these were very 'you,' so I picked 'em up. You can never have enough hand-towels, am I right? So, how are you?"

The towels in the bag were white, decorated with a repeating pattern of pocket watches.
