Janie should have been back from her mission days ago, but life rarely works out as planned.  She'd called her Father to let him know she made it back safely,   He had questions about the mission,why she was back late, when she'd pick Lynn up.

She only promised to see him in two days.  It would give her time to rest and to spend a little quality time with her boyfriend.

Her intentions were to order a nice meal, set it up with candles and wine, and have nice romance times.  Instead, she was asleep on the couch with the phone in her hand.

"I can put in paperwork." she began "But something bigger is going on at home. I'm not sure what, but we need to reorganize in a hurry."

"Then tell who needs to be told and get things going!" Xander said. "A threat to you is a threat to the group, if you have that much rank, now."

"Can this wait until after my leave?" she asked, still exhausted "I'll look into it, alright?"

"All right, as long as you think you're safe, for now."

"Hold me." she demanded, not answering his question. He already had an arm around her, but she felt the need to say it.

He held her. "Okay."

There was a knock at the door.

"Food," Xander said, and stood up.

She fell back against the couch, wanting to cry. Janie hated everything about Chinese food at that moment.

Xander returned with plates and paper boxes and started dishing it out. He set a plate in front of Janie and settled beside her, an arm around her again, his plate on his lap.

"And everything is going to be okay," he said, trying to sound reassuring.

She started sobbing into her hands again.

Xander hugged her. "Love you," he said.

"I love you too." she said, after she stopped sobbing. "I don't usually open up like I did with you."

"I know, and I appreciate it," Xander said. "I was just trying to make helpful suggestions ... "

"Captain obvious." she smiled just a bit, and finally noticed the food. "Should I get a uniform that says that?"

"General Obvious," Xander said, and saluted.

"You want to be the general?" she asked

"Uh ... not really. You already have that covered."

"What's your rank?"

"Seven."

Janie giggled a little, then kissed Xander on the cheek.

"Thank you," Xander said.

"You're welcome." She kissed him again before making herself a plate with a very small amount of food.

" ... oh, come on," Xander said. "You just got back from saving the world and you're going to have a spoonful of rice and a tiny bit of chicken?"

"I still feel a little bad." Janie admitted

"Maybe you'll still be hungry when you're done with that."

"I'm not very hungry looking at it, but I'll humor you."
