I need to know what's happening here. I need to know if someone is just messing with me so I can beat them into another century.

Sweetheart, if I had any ideas...I'd.. the only creatures that have that particle in their make-up, have been created by the Danae nebula. Not just the immortals, but some of the Ancients, some Demons.. the more unusual Kaldoan races.

[He stops and considers for a while] I'm thin on embryons myself, more than any of my lot. Lynn's reading was pretty similar to mine.

Why would the nebula? No, this still doesn't make sense.

No. No. I'm not Kaldoan. It's home but I'm not native to there. She wouldn't have any, unless- but I've tested everyone adn they're not matches.

Uh.. hm. [He's pacing himself now, biting a nail and thinking] When we're made, there's no real parent at all.. just a manipulation of subatomic matter and genetics.

It has made copies in the past. The Nebula. Some of the hell creatures were failed attempts. [Okay, so Lynn's a teeniest bit wayward, but she's hardly hell material] Maybe it's had successes that we don't know about?

She's more of a success than... I mean, she's a little off, but not, you know.

Well, 'course you don't. But she would if the Nebula had made some kind of inter-dimensional copy.

Off? Lynn? She's adorable. I mean maybe all that 'daddy' business is a little weird, and knowing all that shit we're prob'ly not supposed to know....

[Phoenix snorts] Yeah well. There was some kind of divine intervention in my creation, though for all the attention God pays me, I dunno why he freakin' bothered- [But he'll stop that particular rant before it starts. Or there will be volcanoes involved]

Never mind 'bout that. I guess it would, if the version it copied her from was all it had to go on. Mama Danae doesn't perceive the universe the way a physical creature does, so it's possible it thinks all Lynn's memories and that stuff she knows is 'normal'.

She's not- I don't understand this, and if the nebula gave her to me, it's wrong. She's more your kind than me. I have to get away.

She looks like me, but that's about it. She can't time travel like me, or any of the timey-wimey stuff that I could do by her age. She's not like anyone else in my family and then according to the scanner, she's got little god particles running though her. What am I supposed to think? No wonder why she thinks of you as her father. You understand her more, you're more like she is.

I'm not rejecting her... I just wish I knew how to deal with her.

In honesty, we really don't know. We're such a young race compared to most immortals. It resists any scientific attempts to explore it, and we have no idea what lies in Guln. [Well that sound optimistic, nice one Phoenix] But it has created many of the fae races, and originally the dragons, they didn't evolve alone.

What's um. That mean for Lynn? Technically I'm not even supposed to be immortal... None of my people were. Something changed somewhere.
