Why can't I go back, and make my life perfect? Isn't that the way it should work? I could happily be a physics professor in a small town in the middle of nowhere.

It would be one, and I've already had to learn my lesson about things like that. I'm not sure why it's crossing my mind.

Well ... it might not make things easier, but we can always try to make this life we're stuck with a little better. Travel somewhere, escape everything for a while.
