A strangely refreshed Janie knocked on Xander's door three times, ready to go with him, and kill things.

It had been quite a while for her, but only eight hours for Xander since she'd trained him on the two weapons. The two of them could do anything if they were together, couldn't they?

She waited patiently, nodding politely to a neighbor.

"That, you do." Janie smiled and went to finish retrieving her clothing. "Need food or anything? I don't know why I'm stalling. I shouldn't be."

"I'm ready," Xander said. He had one shoe on, so he was nearly right. "Shouldn't I be the one stalling? Telling you you absolutely have to see the Indiana Jones movies before we go or something?"

She stood in the middle of the floor for a few seconds.

"Put your shoe on, and we'll go."

His shoe firmly in place, Xander stood up. He put his hand on the pistol at his hip.

"Let's do this."

Janie walked over to him, taking one of his hands, and wrapping an arm around him. She leaned up as much as she could, kissing to distract him from the unpleasantness that was her way of teleporting.

When they get there, it won't be the apartment of her ex. Instead, it will be a field in the middle of nowhere with a large, whitewashed Qalat in the distance.

"Uh ... nice ... castle?" Xander said, tilting his head slightly. "He's in there?"

"Wrong place." She said, a little stunned "Though, I wouldn't mind blowing this place away."

"Where are we?"

"This is where I lived before I met you."

" ... oh. Yeah, we should go."

Janie nodded in agreement as she got her weapon out and transformed it to the vaporizer.

"Yes, we really should go."

She aimed the weapon at a wall, and fired, wondering if it would go that far.

Xander watched a segment of wall crumble. " ... Or we could stay here for a minute or two."

A few people emerged, curious, and started yelling when the saw Janie and Xander.

Instead of paying attention, she fired again.

Since it seemed like the thing to do, Xander started shooting, as well. Just at the building, for now.

A guy with a cigarette stood off some distance to the side, looking quite pleased with himself.

After watching her fire at the wall for a second, he aimed a similar weapon at Janie.

Xander noticed this shift in attention, and pointed his weapon at the guy, spraying energy at him.

"Janie, duck!" he shouted.

Janie ducked, narrowly missing the concentrated energy beam, while the man somehow managed to miss Xander's shot.

"And who is that?" Xander asked, still firing at the guy.

"She didn't tell you about me?" he asked, still not getting hit "The broad took you to slaughter, and didn't warn you."

Janie was also shooting at him.

"Well, there was passing mention of killing someone," Xander admitted, and aimed for the guy's head.

"Xander, meet my ex. Ex, meet my Xander."

After shooting at him again, Janie looked even more annoyed.

"Why won't you die?"

"Pleased to meet you!" Xander said, waving with his free hand. He jerked the waving hand back down to his side as Janie's ex nearly blasted it off.

"I'm distracting you, sugar tits." He smirked as more shots avoided him. Someone obviously gave him a powerful protection field.

The guy seemed pretty well protected. Xander pointed the energy weapon at the ground near the guy's feet, wondering if he could make enough molten glass to do some damage to him.

Janie saw what Xander was doing, and turned around to see a few people advancing on them. She aimed and fired to vaporizer, realizing it was all a set up.
