MATH 171. Analytic Geometry and Calculus. (4-0). Credit 4. I, II Vectors, functions, limits, derivatives, Mean
Value Theorem, applications of derivatives, integrals, Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Prerequisite:
MATH 150 or equivalent. Credit will not be given for more than one of MATH 131, 142, 151 and 171.

PHYS 101. Freshman Physics Orientation. (1-0). Credit 1. I Critical thinking skills and problem solving in physics:
time management and teaming skills. May be taken twice for credit. For physics majors. Registration by
non-majors requires approval of physics department head. Prerequisite: Registration in PHYS 218 or 208.
PHYS 218. (PHYS 2325 and 2125, 2425) Mechanics. (3-3). Credit 4. I, II, S Mechanics for students in science and
engineering. Prerequisite: MATH 151 or 171 or registration therein.
