"We can't detect anything right now, but we recommend that you stop drinking immeaditly. There are programs that will help."
"Is he going to be okay?"
"Abstaining from alcohol will assure a good outc-"
The clinic employee was cut short as the woman got up and walked away.

Later that evening, Janie sat with crumpled papers on either side of her, trying her hardest to complete a letter.
Phoenix,
I'm sorry. Been a terrible friend.

She crumpled that paper too, then smoothed it out befoore sending it to him and turning her comm off in fear of what the response might be. After her meeting with the agency, she would consider turning it back on.
