It started off with running from Ori- something she was becoming accustomed to. Running, because she didn't want to go back and follow all of those rules. She didn't know what she wanted to do, but it wasn't that. If they could understand, she might be able to live with them. If they weren't going to punish her for what she did, she might be able to live with them.

The truth was, Janie knew she'd probably die if she went back. Too many rules were broken too many times for them to spare her again, so she ran and ran until collapsing in an alley somewhere. Sweat covered her body in a fine sheen as she quickly searched for another path out and away from the authority figure that chased her.

When the gun went off, she didn't notice it right away. Her mind was so focused on getting away, nothing registered but running- until she couldn't do it anymore. Something on her body hurt, she realized, stumbling forward. Suddenly, it all hurt, and now her purple shirt was becoming red with blood. Looking back, she saw the stone face of Ori looking at her as the weapon went off again.

Janie looked up at the much older woman, tears now streaming down her face. This wasn't how it was supposed to end. It's not what she'd seen... Ori wouldn't really do this to her.

The older woman walked up closer to her, and held the gun against the younger girls temple. No words were exchanged as the trigger was pulled and she wished herself away.
