I'm learning. I used to freak out because of things like this; but I've seen so many weird things since that this almost feels normal. It still gives me a headache if I start thinking too much about it, but it's not dangerous, not threatening ... no reason to get upset about.

[He grins and pats the table once it's on the boat.]

Let's hope it'll remain here now. Drinks?

[Julian smiles and nods, gathers some bottles and looks for a blanket.]

Sure. It's nice out there. Let's have an, uh, alcoholic picnic.

No, no, the engine won't come out. It wouldn't do that to me.

[Janie snags a blanket]

It's safe enough here to do that. We'll have a great time.

Hah. Here's to a trustworthy engine.

[He grins and raises the bottle in a toast.]

I'm having a great time already. It's ... I haven't felt so safe and comfortable in a long time.

[Janie smiles, and touches a bottle to Julian's, then taking a quick drink]

I'm glad, Julian. You deserve it. [Janie heads out of the boat and spreads the blanket on the sand]

I think we both deserve it.

[Julian drinks as well, then helps Janie spreading the blanket. When its done, he flops down onto it, looking happily up into the sky.]

You've no idea how much I missed this ...

[Janie sits on the blanket next to Julian, and stares out at the water]

Missed what? Picnics? Hanging out?

All of it. Picnics under a starry sky, at a beach, with someone I like a lot.

[He looks up at Janie.]

Everything alright?

I like watching the water... It's calming somehow. Everything is fine, even better than fine because you're someone that I like a lot, and this night has almost been perfect.

[lostinthefog]

[He nods, smiling, understanding perfectly well how calming the water can be.]

What would have to happen to make it truly perfect?

[Janie finally lays back and looks up at the stars]

It doesn't really matter, because I don't think I want to change a thing right now. I just want to be here... because getting up would kill the moment.

[Julian smiles at her, then follows her gaze into the night sky.]

You're right, so, let's enjoy it as long as we can. If there's anything I can do to make it even better though, just tell me.

...What about you? What would make this better?

Not that I plan on getting up. All of our drinks are in reach, correct?

They are. Everything that matters is right here, at least for me. I ... I don't know what could make it better. Not really. I don't want anything to spoil this, or make it complicated.

[Janie moves so she is laying closer to Julian] The stars are beautiful here...

[Julian glances at her, but doesn't move away. Instead, he points up into the sky, leaning in a bit to show her a few stars forming a pattern.]

They are. Do you see these? I bet it's a constellation the people here a have a name for. Which might it be?

[she's now focusing on the stars]

A... Bottle of whiskey. It's a tower, isn't it?

[He laughs and raises his bottle to compare.]

I totally see the similarity. And those over there? [He points.] Looks like a building to me. Could be the Great Sky Bar.

Ha ha, it could be! Is there a glass too?

I see two. Here and ... there.

Oh, and that dude over there? A Space Bartender. I think he's offering us a refill ...

It's always time for refills. [Janie smiles while looking up at the sky, and relaxed]

[He clinks his bottle against Janie's and drinks, smiling.]

Can we stay here for a while?

[Janie clinks her bottle against his, and smiles too]

As long as you want to, or did you mean right here on the beach? Because I'm perfectly comfortable right here.

I mean both. And I'm glad you do ... I feel as if I've finally arrived somewhere. It's strange, but good.
