for all interaction in thedressingroom, Janie is a thirteen year old orphan,  and has lived in an African military compound since age 8, where her Grandmother runs an organization that is structured a lot like a 'time police'.  There are 15 others in the group, not including her Grandmother, eight males and seven females.

She is a natural time traveler, but is not yet mature enough to have control over where and when she goes, unless using a machine.  The others in her group are programmed to rely on the devices.
