"It's nothing but broken clocks" she said, looking around the small room. The hands moved in every direction, digital clocks are changing every sixteenth of a second and the hourglasses are all lost in clouds of smoke. It's a dream.
A dream where a woman with a sledgehammer starts to smash every single clock. Janie screams for her to stop. The clocks are all babies to her. She built them, named them. They're family. Time will never leave her, it won't get bored and move on. It won't tell her that it can't love her. It doesn't look down on her, or feel bad because she's lost it. It won't wonder about her, or try to give her rules. It's not asking her for things she can't possibly do. It will love her for an eternity and be by her side even longer. Time is she and she is time.
And this person was destroying it, heartlessly, smashing it to bits and bits.
"I hate you!" screamed the woman, thrusting the sledgehammer-now-sword into her chest.
"Mother?"
"I never wanted you, but you refused to die." As her Mother said those words, Janie looked down and could see that Lynn was dangling off a ledge. She then took the ledge away and watched her child fall. "Why didn't you die?" asked the woman again
"Get out of my dream! Don't you see what you've done to Lynn?"
"You don't know your own power yet."
"Mother. I want my babies back." Janie was in tears, and then her children were beside her again. Two. Since when did she have two?
"Why do you get to be The One? I'm Ori's favorite. Phoenix took ME to the moon. Did he ever tell you that? He gave me those damn sapphires that you're always wearing."
"No, they're the last gift I ever got from you."
"Did you tell him that you killed me? "
"Mother"
"You killed all of us."
"I-"
"No honey, you had no reason to kill everyone. I was in a coma."
"I'm the last. The only. There won't be anymore."
"You forget about those bastards." Her Mother pointed to the children in her arms "And Sara. If you wanted to kill us off, you should have killed her."
"My babies and Sara don't have any time travel abilities."
"You're a stupid ho."
"Mother." Janie was in tears now, remembering what she'd done to her son. The wound in her chest bled more as tears flowed freely down her face.
"You took all of the power. and you're not using even a tenth of that ability."
"I don't want it."
"Tick-tock." said Ella. Janie looked down, and realized that beneath all of that red, her heart was a clock.
"You live. The innocents... they. Live. I can't with all of this power. It's too much."
"It's too late. Hon, if I smash you to bits, you can just float away. They won't even remember you."
"... I'm not sure." Ella took that as a yes, and began smashing the hammer into her daughter. Springs and cogs and sprockets flew.
"MOMMY!" screamed Lynn, then Franklin(the little boy). "Get out of her dream! GET OUT!"
And they were on a path again, Janie in a white sheet and holding a screw driver, repairing her arm. A technicolor rainforest lined the sides of the path, the clock in the sky flashing 88:88.
"I've got to go to dinner. The gods can't be late."
