Ja'nee, who had enlisted the help of Kelly, spent all day working on putting a surprise picnic together for Ian.  The task could have taken a lot less time, but she enjoyed spending time with her daughter and the two of them took a lot of breaks.

"Kelly?  Do you think he'll be home soon?"  she asked, when everything was finally done.

"He should be here soon." Kelly answered thoughtfully. "Dad didn't have a meeting today after school?"

Ja'nee grins and stops herself from running out to greet him.

"He'll be back here any second! I'm excited."

Kelly covered her mouth to stop from giggling. She could hear Ian walking through the house and toward them which only made the giggling worse.

Ian did eventually make it back to them with dog in tow. But as soon as he saw them he smiled. He could tell they were up to something.

How are my goddess and wife today?

We're fine.

She grinned, then couldn't help herself and ran to give Ian a hug.
