Open - different responses depending on the reply

For the past half hour, Janie had been sitting on the beach, watching the waves.  Water both fascinated and scared her, which is why she was at a safe distance.

She wasn't unhappy, but she had doubts about nearly everything in her mind.  She wasn't sure if the yellow boat parked a few hundred yards away was a safe idea or not.

"We need weapons," Robert said.

"There's some there." she said, checking that her knife was still in her boot. "Mom had a cache buried behind self-help books"

"That's the best use for them, ever," Robert said. "Though they also make good tinder."

He got a look around and ended up with a small, high-powered energy weapon.

"Ready when you are."

"Thirty seconds. I need to get rid of the body." With that, Janie and the body were gone.
