The Grape-Mobile - RP for kaydee_did

Janie was worried about her friend, who'd been feeling ill, so she ordered her into her late model purple Ford Taurus that was now known as the 'Grape-Mobile'.

"This shouldn't be anything serious." she said, not very reassuringly "But it doesn't hurt to be careful."

She shook her fist at the moron driver. "Okay, so we'll leave it at just enough." She smiled appreciatively.

"We'll be there soon." Janie kept her eyes on the road, ready to curse out any driver who dare to follow too closely or cut her off. "Where should we go afterward?"

"Hmm...ooh, you know, I could really go for some pot stickers. So anywhere that has those would be glorious."

"I know a good place." Janie grinned "Now, to get Dr.House to diagnose and cure you in 42 minutes."

"Perfect. Minus the illness part." She looked out the window and noticed they were nearly there.

"The illness part is never fun. You'll be one of the patients that gets cure in the first ten minutes- and that gives him a clue to cure the Guam sickness."

Janie clearly spent a little too much time watching Hugh Laurie play an American doctor.

"That works for me. I hate doctors." She ran a hand through her hair a little nervously. Though House was okay with her as long as he stayed in the TV.

"Let's tell them to make this quick." Janie pulled into a parking spot "And you won't have to come back until you get the plague again."

"And I hope I never get the plague again." Kaydee unbuckled and got out of the grapemobile. "Let's get this over with." Her nerves were starting to get going.

"I'm joking. This is probably a bad flu and you'll get antivirals." She wanted to reassure her friend, realizing she seemed nervous. Getting out of the car, she waited for her friend before walking to the office.

Kaydee walked beside Janie as they headed to the office. She opened the door and held it for her friend. Together they walked up to the reception desk and Kaydee waited quietly.

"Excuse me." Janie said, to the woman who sat behind the desk. A pen with a cheap flower was pointed at a clipboard.

"I have to sign in?" she frowned, but did so. The place wasn't busy so they probably would be called right away.

She leaned over Janie's shoulder and watched her sign in. Then she nudged her friend with her elbow, "You could always go in my place and I can wait out here..."

"I'm not the ill one." Janie said, putting the ugly pen down after she finished. "You go, get your antivirals and we get pot stickers. It's quick and easy"

Kaydee huffed slightly but agreed. It was only a moment later when the nurse called her back. "Time me. 42 minutes!"

Janie held up her wrist, which was absent of a watch. "Clock's started."

There were dated magazines to keep her busy. Ah, Cosmo. 42 ways to please your Man.

It was closer to 45 minutes when Kaydee came back. She didn't look particularly happy. "Well, I'm not sick," she said.

"You're not?" she asked, looking up from an awful article "That's good, but you're not happy. We'll still get pot stickers. What about your symptoms?"

Kaydee ran her hand through her hair. "Um...I'm pregnant." She actually sounded a bit surprised.

"You're- what? Is that good? Bad?"

"Well...it's not horrible." She walked the rest of the way over to her friend. "Mickey and I had talked about it...but...it wasn't supposed to be now."

"Life doesn't like it when you make plans." Janie said, getting up and meeting her friend. "C'mon. Pot stickers will help with the shock."

"Yes. And it could be worse." She smiled. "Onward to pot stickers." She linked her arm with Janie's for the short walk to the door.
