Party time! - Open like woah

Stress?  There was no stress right now,no problems with anyone, no enemies- there was just her boat, and a bit of land decorated for a luau.  She'd actually put the boat in the water for once!

Janie sat back with a drink and waited for people to show up.  When she decided to throw the spontaneous shindig, she cheated and sent invitations out right away.

It was happy fun party time.

Xander got a look around, snagged a plate of chips, located Janie and gave her a hug.

"This looks like quite the shindig," he said.

Janie grinned, and hugged Xander tightly. "I'm glad you made it!"

"Me, too," Xander said. "Would I miss the first ever party on the Rift Raft? I think not."

"We need music, for dancing" She said, looking up at him "and drinks. Have one?"

A person with a tray was nearby, and Janie grabbed a martini glass.

Xander took a beer and nodded. "Drinks are good ... music is good ... You're still better."

"If we start snogging now, I doubt we'll have much conversation" was all that she said, before sipping from the glass.

"You're probably right. And you know what they say ... if the boat's a-rockin', don't come knockin'."

"Okay, we go to the boat, come back and party? It would be rude to leave my guests."

"I like the way you think," Xander said. "After you ... "

Janie giggled, and kissed Xander on the cheek before heading for the boat.

Once inside, Xander stopped dead in his tracks and looked around.

"This looks much bigger from the inside," he said.

"I bent space." she explained, casually "Did you need a tour?"

"Hi-yah!" screamed the voice of a child. A ten year old jumped in front of Xander, brandishing a sword that she probably shouldn't have had. "Leave my Mommy alone!"

Xander jumped two feet backwards and gave Janie a baffled look. "Pirates?" he asked.

"Lynn! I told you to stay in your room or go to Grandpa's!"

"Luh ... Lynn?" Xander did a doubletake. " ... or a really short pirate."

"Go!" Janie tried waving the girl away, giving her a Look.

"I'm protecting her!" she continued to hold the sword out "Go away! Leave her alone."

"Maybe she doesn't need protecting?"

"She does!" the little girl said "Are you going to hurt her?"

"Absolutely not," Xander said. "I'm going to be very nice to her. And you. Definitely. Now, put the really sharp metal thing away."

"Lynn, he's fine. Please, go back to your room or to Grandpa's. We had a deal, remember?"

The girl lowered her sword, and pouted.

"She's cute," Xander said to Janie.

"I'm adorable" Lynn corrected, with a sweet smile "And I have to go to my room because Mom says so, or to Grandpa's."

Another look from Janie, and Lynn had her answer "But I don't want to go to Grandpa's. Fine!." There was a short silence, then Lynn dropped the sword and wrapped her arms around Janie.
