Party time! - Open like woah

Stress?  There was no stress right now,no problems with anyone, no enemies- there was just her boat, and a bit of land decorated for a luau.  She'd actually put the boat in the water for once!

Janie sat back with a drink and waited for people to show up.  When she decided to throw the spontaneous shindig, she cheated and sent invitations out right away.

It was happy fun party time.

Julian shows up a while after sunset, after a little indecision about whether he should come. But the promise of a peaceful and happy evening has been too tempting, and so here he is, looking for familiar faces, finally finding Janie.

"Hi! Drink? We've got plenty!" Janie had a coconut in one hand, and was watching a group play a game of volleyball. When she saw her friend, she turned her attentions to him, and motioned for a person carrying a tray of drinks to come over.

"Oh yes, a drink would be great." He surveys the drinks on the tray and decides for something that looks the most similar to a pure whisky.

Turning his attention back to Janie, he smiles. "Thanks for the invitation. Are we celebrating anything in particular?"

She sipped through the straw in the coconut before answering Julian. "No, I needed a party. Doesn't everyone need them? Thanks for coming!"

"You're right. Who needs a reason for a party and some drinks. And parties at a coast are the best anyway." Julian grinned and looked around, at the boat and over the water.
"It's a nice place. Why did you choose it?"

"I like sunsets, the way they look on a beach" she explained "Though I'm not going in the water, but the boat looks better in it."

"Ah. Yeah, I loved watching them, too ..." Which was impossible to him now, at least the usual way, but he still liked the beach and the sea.

He took a sip of his drink. "Wait ... so that's your boat?"

"...sorry. You must miss it."

She went quiet for a moment. "Yes, it's mine. I needed a way to take people with me that wouldn't make them sick. It gets lonely." Janie took a sip of her drink. "It's called the Rift Raft"

"It's okay." He waved it aside with a shrug, this wasn't the time and place to become melancholy.

"Hah, that's a nice name. You're making boat trips with people? Who'd have thought that ..."

"It looks to me like there's a pina colada or two to be had around here," Nica said, getting a look around. "And munchies would just be a bonus ... Heya, Janie!" she finished with a wave. "You have a boat! ... a really yellow boat. 'Rift Raft'?"

"NIca! Yes, The boat was cheap." She waved over someone with a tray of drinks, and grabbed a colorful hurricane glass. "My Daddy helped name the boat."

"It's a good name," Nica said. She took the glass from Janie and took a sip. "So, yeah ... very nice place you got here. I like it!"

Janie grabbed another glass for herself before waving the server away. "It's not my place, only where the party landed." She looked towards the volleyball game before shaking her head. "Um.. what kind of music do you want?"

"Music? Wow ... anything's good. Something peppy. Not Kesha ... anything but Kesha. Gaga, maybe. The party just ... landed here? I'm not sure I get that."

"Who?" asked Janie, confused "Tell the disc jockey, then we can have a dance?"

"Yeah, sure, no worries." She took a sip of her drink, talked to the DJ for a few minutes and returned to where Janie was hanging out. "Okay ... So what's new with you besides the boat?"

"I'm not sure." She shrugged, honestly "C'mon, dance with me. This is fun time, not explainey time"

Xander got a look around, snagged a plate of chips, located Janie and gave her a hug.

"This looks like quite the shindig," he said.

Janie grinned, and hugged Xander tightly. "I'm glad you made it!"

"Me, too," Xander said. "Would I miss the first ever party on the Rift Raft? I think not."

"We need music, for dancing" She said, looking up at him "and drinks. Have one?"

A person with a tray was nearby, and Janie grabbed a martini glass.

Xander took a beer and nodded. "Drinks are good ... music is good ... You're still better."

"If we start snogging now, I doubt we'll have much conversation" was all that she said, before sipping from the glass.

"You're probably right. And you know what they say ... if the boat's a-rockin', don't come knockin'."

"Okay, we go to the boat, come back and party? It would be rude to leave my guests."
