On a particularly mild and clear night, in a clearing surrounded by sycamore trees, a tall man danced with a shorter woman beneath the moon and stars to music that only the two of them could hear.

"Do you feel that?" she asked, looking up at the stars, then into his eyes. "It's. It's this feeling that everything is right with the world and I'm with the person that I love forever. Or a breeze..." Janie trailed off as she heard music. "We're running out of time, aren't we? You won't- Oh gods, we have to say goodbye. I don't want to, you might- and then, Hannibal you-"

He kissed her, silencing her agitated monologue.

"Can you just keep doing that? I know we have the kids to worry about. We have kids, we have a life- What are they going to think of this? Are they going to miss me? Are you? Will you think of me? I'm going to be alone forever, and I can't do this. Please, I can't go, I can't leave you. Hannibal, you must, you have to fix this so I can stay."

"Shh. The sun is going to come up soon." He made no move to leave, and held her closer while breathing in deeply, to remember that her silky soft hair always smelled of coconut and spices.

"Han." She begged, almost.

"I'll stay as long as I can, J. You know that. Forever and always, if I could. In our spot and we'll spend our days-"

"No, don't do this now."

"We'll be together, J. You and me."

"I don't want to do this again." She started to cry "I can't lose you, you're my everything. The only person that I ever, that I love and I think about you all the time. I dream of you every night, every single night and I remember you, I know that I'm supposed to and that we're soul mates, that you took me to prom and-"

"Janie. Janie!" He kissed the top of her head, not letting go of her.

"Don't forget me, please."

"I'm always with you." Hannibal tried to calm her, and knew it wouldn't work. He stroked her hair, silently praying that something would change. "Keep me in the back of your head somewhere, babe."

"Not when I'm gone, and don't let them forget. I'm going to come back one day and I-"

"You know I'll wait for you hun. Until we're together again and this will all be a bad thought"

"What if I don't see you again?" She looked up at him, her heart breaking and Han knew that nothing he could do would fix it.

"You will."

"I love you, I can't live without "

"Stop it, Janie."

"Remember how nice this dance was."

"It's not the last"

"Promise" she insisted.

"I don't think I need-

"Promise me, Han."

"Janie"

"I promise."

"I love you."

"I love you too Janie. I'll never stop." They had a second of quiet, where he didn't have to try to stop her from crying, and they looked at each other.

"You won't? You'll look up at the stars and think of me?" She held him tightly again, never wanting to let go.

"Every night, we'll dream of each other, we'll have this time together"

"I want more than that."

"I love you." He said, running his thumb down the side of her face one last time. In that final moment, the two kissed each other.

A second later. the feel of a wet pillow opened her eyes and she realized that she was in a cold room, alone and struggling to remember the dream she just had.

((ooc: This is from her canon.  Basically, she's got a life she can't remember, something that pops up from time to time in dreams
))
