Much deserved fun

Instead of popping up in Julian's place uninvited, Janie knocked on his door a few minutes after she got the last note from him.
She knocked, and waited for him to get to the door.
She knocked, and waited for him to get to the door.

Date: 2010-09-29 11:24 pm (UTC)She looked toward the river and the sea, then to the restaurant and nodded. "Yes, lets get some food."

Date: 2010-09-30 08:41 am (UTC)With that, he held open the restaurant's door.

Date: 2010-10-01 08:35 pm (UTC)She didn't smell the rotten fish, and would likely change her mind if anyone ordered it.

Date: 2010-10-01 08:49 pm (UTC)Judging from the smell, the restaurant seemed more specialized in delicacies that weren't seafood, which was why Julian had picked it. The place was well-attended, but luckily, there were a few free tables, and a waitress led them to a small one near a window.

Date: 2010-10-14 04:20 am (UTC)Janie took a seat, and looked out of the window. "What an amazing view! Julian, you'll have to order for me."

Date: 2010-10-14 11:51 am (UTC)Julian sat down, too, and studied the menu. After a while he found what he was hoping for and nodded. "Can do that, if you're okay with that reindeer steak? Or would you like something different?"

Date: 2010-10-19 04:57 pm (UTC)She saw a waiter walk by with a salad, and now wanted that too.
"The salad too."
(no subject)
Date: 2010-10-19 08:23 pm (UTC)He looked for the salad on the menu, until he thought he had found the matching description.
"Okay ... and what would you like to drink?"

Date: 2010-10-19 08:53 pm (UTC)When a waiter came to their table, Julian ordered both Janie's and his dinner. His Norwegian was obviously quite rusty, but the waiter seemed to understand nevertheless and too polite to even raise an eyebrow. The man took the order and left, and Julian leaned back again, enjoying the view.
"Well, let's see what we'll get."

Date: 2010-10-24 09:15 pm (UTC)She also wondered if the order had been right, since her friend seemed to have trouble with the language "But whatever we get should be good. Thank you. "

Date: 2010-10-24 10:16 pm (UTC)"We can use it next time. Although I'm pretty sure the man would've understood English, too, but ... I wanted to try. It's been a while since I had the opportunity to. Don't worry, I know the words for 'rotten' and 'fish' and I didn't use them."

Date: 2010-10-25 08:20 pm (UTC)He shrugged, giving her an apologetic look.
"And ditto, I haven't ordered for someone else for quite some time."
(no subject)
Date: 2010-10-25 10:04 pm (UTC)She smiled at him again, reassuringly. She didn't mind that he had a little trouble with the language.
"Next time, I'll have to order for you."

Date: 2010-10-26 09:03 am (UTC)Which it was, more or less. But he was surprised, that tonight, in this company, it wasn't so bad to talk about it. And the thought of repeating that soon made him smile.
"Oh, I'd love that. Where would we go?"
(no subject)
Date: 2010-10-26 02:13 pm (UTC)Janie was looking forward to taking him there. The night was always beautiful on the tropical island, with fire lamps and moonlight illuminating the tiny village on the shore.

Date: 2010-10-26 03:17 pm (UTC)The waiter returned with bread-sticks and their drinks, water for Julian and something orange for Janie. It didn't contain alcohol, and smelled, well, of oranges.
Julian raised his glass, despite it containing only water, and smiled. "Here's to vacations."

Date: 2010-10-28 06:58 am (UTC)"Bread-sticks!" Janie grinned "I don't care what else you ordered, these are great. To vacations!'
After a sip of her drink, she smiled, it was tasty.

Date: 2010-10-28 08:04 am (UTC)He took one of the bread-sticks and grinned.
"I can't remember having ordered these."
(no subject)
Date: 2010-10-28 03:35 pm (UTC)She hadn't thought to ask for breadsticks, but they were awesome. "I don't mind one bit that you got these. What did you order?"
(no subject)
Date: 2010-10-28 04:57 pm (UTC)He nibbled on his bread-stick and shrugged. "What I tried to order was the reindeer steak and the salad. What I actually did order ... who knows."

Date: 2010-10-29 03:14 am (UTC)"It'll be a surprise!" She really hoped it would be a good surprise.

Date: 2010-10-29 08:22 am (UTC)Another waiter came, serving two plates with salad. It wasn't exactly the one Janie had seen before, but in addition to nuts and goat cheese, it at least did contain salad.
(no subject)
Date: 2010-10-31 12:04 am (UTC)She looked over the salad, before digging in to it. She was so hungry that she didn't mind that it looked a little unusual.
